Default Ebay graded card return policy

I sell a few cards on ebay and have no problem accepting returns on items for a good reason. With graded cards however, I have a big problem with people demanding returns with me paying for return shipping. The most recent was a BIN that I'm sure the buyer got cold feet. I always post large pictures of the front and back of cards so the buyer has a very good idea about what they are getting. Can I accept returns but say that I won't if the item is graded??

Thanks,

Paul

Default Paul...

You can say whatever you want but Ebay and the buyer ALWAYS win.

Rule #1 Say anything in your ad.
Rule #2 Be honest and always ship said item promptly.
Rule #3 Ebay always wins.
Rule #4 Buyer always wins.
Rule #5 When in doubt, always refer back to Rule #3 and 4.

Seriously. My friend has been through the same thing you have and he had to refund $1500 on a graded card because the buyer was not happy with it. No other explanation was needed and my friend had clearly stated in his ad "No refunds or returns allowed on graded items". It does not matter with Ebay/Paypal.

Sorry man.

Be careful of those "SGC not PSA" titles unless they changed the rules you aren't supposed to do that.

Default Ebay graded card return policy

Are those spots of paper loss on the front or is that just the holder?

I didn't know I wasn't supposed to do that. Just trying to get views. I guess I can be more creative in the future.

There is a small mark next to his collar. I wouldn't call it paper loss. The buyer's contention was that there was a crease in the card. There's no crease obviously.

I have never been a big fan of scans of cards taken from afar. Maybe you should invest in a scanner?? There are some REALLY nice ones that can be had for around $75. That way the buyer sees good images of the cards up close and there are no surprises.

I guess you could try what PWCC uses for their return policy:

Our 14-day return policy is not a 'no questions asked' return policy. Returns are only accepted if an item is misrepresented in the auction title/description/images, email, or phone communication. Buyer's remorse is not a valid reason for return. We strive to be reasonable in the event of a disagreement and ask that buyers afford us the same level of fairness. Misrepresentation of an auction item is exceedingly rare. Regarding professionally graded cards: we at PWCC are not professional graders so we trust in the reputation and opinion of 3rd party professional graders. Professional grading is subjective and different 3rd party graders will often disagree over the grading on a single card. Such a disagreement is NOT a justifiable reason for a return with PWCC. As a broker of graded sportscards, our responsibility is the accurate description and delivery of the item advertised, but is not to guarantee how a graded card will be assessed by another grading company. Any issue a buyer has with a card's 3rd party grade should be addressed with the company that graded the card, not PWCC. Returned items must be received back in the condition they were received. Original shipping will be refunded along with the full purchase price upon receiving back a returned item.

^^^This

Also, YES, SIR, there is a crease in the bottom left corner (can be seen front and back). If I had that card in hand, I would want a refund as well. Refund the buyer and move on.

Yea, it's time for me to get a scanner. I only sell a few cards, mostly to upgrade my collection but it'd probably save me some hassles.

$200 is pretty steep. The Epson V30 is around $50-$80. You don't have to shell out huge bucks....unless you want to.
