Default T210 Reproductions

Posted By: Bill Stone

I am sure we have all seen the T210 Joe Jackson reproduction for sale. It seems to me I also recall a recent eBay posting of a T210 common card that was identified as a reproduction. Is anyone aware of other T210 reproductions hitting the market recently? Any information would be appreciated.

I have seen a few small groups of reprint T210s in this past month. They usually appear too fuzzy and poorly aged. Another big tip is the series numbers on the backs have all been incorrect with the examples i've seen (a series 2 Cote with a series 6 back, etc.)

Thanks for the heads up. For some reason I was thinking of legitimate reproductions and not bootleg ones for scamming......I would venture to guess any card ever seen has had a bootleg fake made of it....hope all is well for you....regards

Yikes, Zach, that is a bit scary.

I can see that if the prices go up on the cards from series 6, 7, and 8, then it is tempting for someone to attempt to fake them. I didn't see the Cote card with a series 6 back... any chance you could post a scan? I'm curious to see how good of a cloning job they did.

Thanks.

Frank.

Hi Frank,

Here is a link to the auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/8-T210-OLD-MILL-WALKER-GRIFFIN-CARROL-FOXEN-STOEHR-COTE_W0QQitemZ180244956309QQihZ008QQcategoryZ213QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I was wrong about the Cote, though the seller has sold a few of these lots and one of them may have had a Cote with the wrong back. Either way, all of the cards in this lot appear with series 2 backs and all aren’t series two cards (Carrol is series 7, Beatty is series 7, Dugey is series 3 and Stohr is series 7).

Zach

Thanks Zach --that was the auction I was trying to remember. I hope the T210 market doesn't get flooded with these now.
