Default 1968 Davis Cup Broadside P/U - Arthur Ashe

 photo davis cup 1968 poster_zpsjqtok7ow.jpg

Picked this broadside up tonight off eBay...After winning this Inter-Zone first round the United States went on to win both the final match with India and the challenge match by the previous year's champion Australia...I don't know the details of how this came to surface...whether the seller found it at a garage sale or pulled it out of a trash heap or what ever but I didn't have to give much for it $64.99 BIN...and it's really rare...The "Get your tickets at Richman Bros." clearly indicates it was intended to be posted around the Cleveland area...I like the discolor definition from the thumb tacks...I haven't examined it in person yet but everything about the photo says genuine real deal...The crossed American and Spanish flags with the red, blue and yellow printing really make it pop...and it's in great condition!

Very cool Broadside, Carlton.. It goes to show that rarity doesn't always equal a high price. And 1968 was a tumultuous year for the US.....
