Default T206....autographs...value?

Posted By: Dave F

I'm curious what the consensus is on the value of some of these autographed T206's that pop up. Assuming the autograph is on the T206, legit, and a common player? $300? $500?

Also, what would the value be if the autograph was of a player featured in T206, but the autograph was on an index card, napkin, or the likes?

You should ask this over on the card side as I note there are a few collectors like James Feagan who specifically collect autos on T206. I personally have no clue. I do know that Rube Marquard is probably the most common of all autographed T206's.

I think the range in somewhere between $400 and $600 for "commons" that lived longer lives or for Rube. Obviously if you have an authentic signed T-206 of a "common" who died in 1920, it will be worth considerably more. I just bought a group 4 for around $400 each (3 commons and Rube), but then had to pay $20 each for authentication. I know of a Doyle for sale for $550.

Also just got this one recently although didn't knnow it was authentic at the time of purchase...

As far as index cards go on players who appeared on T206 cards, it basically depends on when they passed away.

If they passed away in the late 1960's to say early 1980's, you can usually pick one up for $15-20.

Players like Parent, Snodgrass, Doyle and such can often be found in authentic form on eBay for around that price range and aren't a challenge to find.
