Default Photo help please!

I recently picked these up because of Gehrig, but I have no idea what they are.
There are 5 pics. It was reported that it was Comiskey, but I'm not sure.
The words Velox are printed faintly on the backs. They measure 3.75" by 4.75"
I was looking for some help, if anyone has any other info.
I am posting all five fronts and one back, as they are all the same.

Thanks for any assistance
Mark

DEFINITELY Comiskey, Mark. Most likely from '36 or '37, judging from the uniforms and look of Gehrig.

Amazing shots too - I'd love to paint that second one!!

Thanks Graig. I think the only problem is that they are small. Might be difficult to get the detail.
I'm interested if anyone has any info on how they were made etc. Could these be snaps that were developed with the border or some sort of promo pack?

I would actually wonder the same thing. The decorative border seems like something that an amateur photographer might do with his/her prints. However, the angles at which these are shot (especially the first two) make me think that it was done by a professional. I'd certainly love to know for sure...

Those are awesome...Looks like a professional photographer with access to the field developed some of his negatives on regular snapshot velox paper. Not sure who the two guys hamming it up are, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are actors/comedians or people of note.

There's some resemblance to Jimmie Dykes, but need a better closeup scan.

He kind of looks like Luke Sewell, but I'm not 100% sure...

Sewell is a possibility....these photos had to be taken by a professional...access to the field, and the sharpness of the action shots are not something a regular Joe would have been able to capture.

I kind of figured as much, but am unfamiliar with who they are. If we assume, the pics were taken by the same person, who was a professional, it stands to reason that he would take multiple pics of famous people in the stands.

The guy on the right looks like a young Bud Abbott!
