Default T206 scraps on Goodwin

Guys, pls educate me here....

How come that Dessau sold for twice as much as the Fletcher and Dorner? Was that overprint on Dessau an unknown player or a Wagner or something? Now the auction is over so I guess we can openly discuss this

In my opinion, that Engle scrap really sold for a bargain.

Dessau: http://www.goodwinandco.com/LotDetail.aspx?lotid=24746
Dorner: http://www.goodwinandco.com/LotDetail.aspx?lotid=24747
Fletcher: http://www.goodwinandco.com/LotDetail.aspx?lotid=24748

blank back vs non-blank back? Maybe making them scrap vs misprint?

Engle is the only one that's with branded back. In my opinion, it is more difficult to have a branded back printed with an overprint image since they meant to be inserted in cigarette packs unlike blank back.

The other three, Dessau/Fletcher/Dorner all have blank backs and I just don't quite get how Dessau sold for twice as much..... I guess auctions are always filled with surprises.

Your opinion didn't matter. People are paying more for scraps than misprints, for the most part. It doesn't matter what you think, regarding the prices, unless you are bidding and buying them.

No prob and my message sounded a bit harsh and I didn't meant to. But I think the scraps / blank backs escalated their prices, as stated.
