Default St. Louis/Collinsville Sports Show

Who went to the show? HR Baker and I did attend yesterday. It appeared to be lightly attended, but was a great effort by the promoter and the dealers. It was an all vintage show, no new stuff. Inside the Park Collectibles, Buckler Cards, Bryan Dec, William Chappell, and John Ross were a few of the dealers there I know. I hope that the promoter and dealers make enough to bring them back. I think with some good word of mouth this could be a really good show. If you live in the area try to get out there today. Like many of you, I don't get to go to very many good shows anymore. I traveled from Louisville, Ky. (4hrs) with my 11yr old son, and we had a great time.

It was a great show. One of the best regional shows I've seen in a long time. Brought in some great dealers. Amazing give aways too.

I was very apprehensive but it was worth the four hour drive.
Have to think they may have taken a bath on the auto guests yesterday unless there was a ton of MO. Didn't stay for the auction.

Apparently the auction went pretty well with strong prices. I ended up winning one of the door prizes at the end. Scored the 51 Bowman Mantle rookie so needless to say I am pretty pumped. I stuck around for the 52 Topps Mantle, which was a very nice PSA 1 but unfortunately lightning did not strike twice.

You won the 51 Mantle??? Congrats! I purchased a VIP pass just for the giveaways because unfortunately I had no time to go over the weekend. Guess I was shut out. I did walk thru on Friday morning about 10AM and it looked like a lot of quality vintage dealers on hand. Browsed some of the auction items including the 52 set minus Mantle. Anyone know what that went for? I saw some of the big auction houses were going to be there so probably not much of a bargain.

Checked it out from 10am - noon on Friday. Was curious to see if there would be any basketball dealers. Figured probably not, but it was only about 20 minutes away and $5 to get in. Dropped some cards off with JSA, wandered, chatted, picked up a DrJ rookie for $20, then headed home.

I sure did! It is a very presentable PSA Authentic with no evidence of alterations just a tiny sliver missing. Picture of the card and article on the show can be found at the link below from Sports Collectors Daily.

I actually got to look thru all the giveaway cards. What a prize! How many entrants would you guess? Did you buy a lottery ticket on the way home?
