Default 1929 Philadelphia Athletics restored photo questions

I am a newbie when it comes to photos and I have a few questions on the one that I have left photos of.(BEFORE AND AFTER photos)

The first question I have is if a professionally restored photo actually adds to its value or hinders it?

The second question I have is specific to this restored photo as it was apparently affixed to a gel backing. Can someone explain this process and does this potentially impact the collectability of this piece?

Lastly, can someone chime in on value on such a photo?

Thank you for all your valued input.

Lucky.

To me proper restoration of a piece like this adds value, though it won't always recoup the cost of the job. Can't speak to the question. Photo is beautiful.

I can't recall a photo value go down after restoration. I also believe it will bring value. The work looks good who did it?
