Default Help with St.Louis Cardinals Pennant

I was wondering how much a late 1940s St. Louis Cardinals pennant is worth? The pennant has all of the names and numbers with the birds on the left hand side of the names. Full size pennant that is missing a little bit of the tip. Sorry I don't have a picture. I've been looking for one but cannot find anything on the computer. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Generally speaking, there are a few different versions of the pennant you are describing. If I am interpreting your description correctly, these are more common from the early 40's when they were in the 1942 and 43 World Series. These pennants in ExMt condition are in the range of $300 or a little more give or take. A later 40's pennant like this would probably be more in the range of about $150-200 in ExMt condition.

The tip of a pennant is what a lot of serious collectors really want to be there in full and the value of a pennant is primarily based upon this. If it was cut blunt by the maker, it's not as bad. If torn off or cut off later that will devalue it by approximately 50%. Hope this helps you. Jason

Thank you Jason for the information. I decided to pass on it due to the fact that the tip was missing.
