I have yet to get around to scanning this on my own scanner for my own purposes so I'll use the Huggins and Scott image, but its one of my favorite acquisitions to date. Lefty Grove signed 8x10 George Burke.

And a complete fully executed Max Carey coaches contract for the 1933 season with Brooklyn.

Did you see the baseball I talked about in my thread at http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...68#post1408368 ?

There are 14 autographs there from 13 HOF players. Yeah it was signed twice by Brooks Robinson.

Default Walter & Lefty

Here are two of my favorites:
1929 GPC questionnaire of Walter Johnson and a vintage signed album page of Lefty Grove exhibiting the same signature as the previous poster's vintage photo of Lefty.

Arguably the best right hander and left hander of all time....

This one is postmarked 1909. A bit of advice for collectors looking to get into PCs: read. This postcard was essentially thrown away on eBay because of the condition but the seller did not read the inscription and did not realize it was written and signed by Billy Papke, a HOFer who died in the 1930s:

Cuban promotional PC signed from HOFer Kid Chocolate to HOF broadcaster/promoter Cuco Conde

I love the 'Carlton/Bench' signed ball. I had a ball signed by the '72 Phillies and Giants and then later by the '73 Reds. The panel with Bench faded so I sort of regret not just adding the Reds to the Phillies/Giants ball. Also wish I had thought about reserving a ball just for stars, but my child mind wasn't thinking like my modern collector one.

These are my favorites from various HOF's. Ruth and Rockne will probably be departing the collection soon.

Theater Hall of Fame - Sarah Bernhardt
Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame - Willie Hoppe
National Football Foundation Hall of Fame - Knute Rockne
Baseball Hall of Fame - Babe Ruth

2 - Dizzy Dean 4x6 George Burke signed
3 - Ted Williams 4x6 George Burke signed (writing on back says it was obtained on June 4th, 1941

Wow. You're good - I mean really good! That's exactly what this is. How in the world could you tell?

The photo is a copy - but the signature is actually Ruth's - that's what I meant by real. My dad was a photographer with the Det. Free Press and and used a copy camera to create a 4 x 5 negative - which this copy was made from. The original went back to the safe-deposit box.

The original was obtained by my grandfather who was also a newspaper photographer. I sold it in a Leland's auction back in the late 90's. The copies are all I have left.

Hey, it was modern cards like this that got me interested in pre-war vintage, and probably others as well. Now I almost exclusively collect vintage or modern auto cuts of vintage players.

That is quite a stash of cards just laying on your desk! Ryan RC, Philip Rivers Exquisite, not to mention Thorpe and Cobb (are they both 1/1's?). Amazing how a $500 cut auto can turn into a $5,000 card!
