Default Luis Robert 2018 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autographs Superfractors

Okay, somebody clue me in.

2018 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autographs #CPALR Luis Robert Superfractors Signed Rookie Card (#1/1). BGS Gem Mint 9.5/BGS 10. Lot #182 in Goldin's recent Summer Premium Live and Catalog Auction, which closed 8/10/19.

Final price $50,400 including premium.

What is so special about Luis Robert, and/or this card, that it went for just about $1,000 less than a '52 Topps Mantle in the same auction? (Lot #97, 1952 Topps Mantle, PSA Ex-Mint 6, final price $51,600.)

Makes the $16,000 someone paid for that 2010 Steven Strasburg card seem like a bargain price. (At the time of the sale, Strasburg had yet to play in a single Major League game.)

Some people have too much money. (Unfortunately, I'm not one of them... anybody wanna buy a Thumbs Down Guy bobblehead?)

This is the part of the hobby that I do not understand. People go on and on and on about the poor guy who bought a 62 Maris for 20 grand that is trimmed, but who is Luis Robert? I don't think Luis Robert should even be paid $50,000, yet. He hasn't done anything. He has to beat out that Eloy guy first and make the big leagues and then his cards should still be worth less than any Fred Lynn card ever made.

For $50,000 you can buy a Lotus Evora. I would much rather have that. I guess after an Evora, you buy a Luis Robert prookie?

I don't get it either but he is a huge prospect. You know what they say about a fool and his money.

Well if someone bought Ronald Acuna's Superfractor when he was in the minors for $50,000, they would be able to make A TONNNNN of money on it today
