Great Speaker, Greg

I've frequently seen a 1930's version of that, but have never been tempted because it wasn't 'career contemporary'. I assume yours is a lot more scarce.

Great additions to your Delong set, Leon.

Those are two of my three favorites from the set and the only two I also own...the third is the Gehrig which may as well be a '52 Mantle to me.

Raymond, the other card with same image is a 1934 R.J. Hill or some such, so, yes, much later than this Susini one...

Hey Greg... glad that you got this... seems like you appreciate it... I am "elrey" on eBay, so I am the seller... kindof like a "board" transaction, even though it was through eBay.... I think that you will love this one when you get it in hand! Goes out tomorrow! Al

Default Busy Month....eclectic pick-ups

...a late thirties Burke Bobby Doerr and a very difficult Burke Dizzy Dean and a 1929 Kashin Al Simmons and an autographed red trim series 1946 Hal Newhouser ; sometimes there is very little method to the madness of the baseball card collecting hobby...TheWidowGarcia thinks Bobby Doerr is cute and was happy to hear that he is still alive and only 99 years old....

Default A good month....Thank You , Ernie Blint Jr.

scanner is set on "color photo" and picks up odd stray invisible ghost 'shades' on any black and white subjects......the seller's E-Bay listing title started out " Estate Envelope Premium 1934" and eventually got around to mentioning that there were two mint cards inside the envelope .... I broke a fingernail hitting the $49.00 BIN......the Gold Medal Daffy Dean itself is difficult , and then inside of a difficult set ; everybody wanted Ole Diz....I doubt if I'll have a better purchase the rest of the year...

Rhett, nice pickup, but I must say that this one card I don't quite get. Why is the Babe staring intently at the pigeon? Did it just crap on his shoe? And who is that strange looking dude off Babe's right shoulder pointing at the pigeon and smiling? Did it crap on his shoe, too? And the knob of Babe's bat seems, well, a bit intimate. I have the montage card, which is pretty unusual as well.

Nice pick-up! That '1' puts other '1's' to shame.
