Default WG2: mystery solved, set for sale

Posted By: Butch & Co.

Just a two-part follow-up to our inquiry and the ensuing
thread of several weeks back regarding the "Billy Owen"
card in the circa 1906 WG2 Fan Craze "Art Series" set --
one, we've definitely established the identity of that
"mystery player," thanks in no small part to the input
and assistance of many members of this fine forum; the
whole story is presented (with pictures!) on this page
of our own website:

and two, and we mention this warily, hoping to not violate
any forum rules about presenting links to active auctions,
a full and quite nice set of the WG2 Fan Craze is
currently up for bids on eBay. We did help research
the set for the vendor, but we have absolutely no vested
interest in nor any financial/material connection to
the auction -- just thought it would be something of
note for the membership here and newsworthy in the hobby.

Does this end the quest? Or do you view the current status as: now the real task is identified. The placement of blame. There are decendents of the party guilty of creating this problem. And ...
