Default Babe Ruth Forgery & The Pawn Shop

This was brought to my attention by a member on another site that I contribute to.

First of all, it's a laughable Babe Ruth forgery that looks like it was penned by a five-year old.

Secondly, I have absolutely no sympathy for the pawn stop that purchased the below garbage.

It was about greed.

The quote "They were very, very good fakes" is laughable.

I just need to date the baseball.

I'm guessing that's not the baseball the guy sold them which is probably now in the hands of the police. The news station probably bought a baseball and signed it to get their shot. The COA doesn't look like the same one that is shown on the surveillance video either.

I take that back...it does appear to be the same COA. If it's the same ball then those pawn shop guys should be fired.

You might be right about the baseball, Dan.

I emailed the reporter about the baseball.

Most certainly that's what the reporter did. They show the shop owners comparing the encased baseball to examples online.

Why would anyone take a real Babe Ruth signed baseball with a real PSA/DNA LOA to a pawn shop, unless it was hot or they needed money really desperately/fast?

I admit I've never been in a pawn shop, so perhaps am working on stereotype.
