Willie Mays portrait by Bill Bates
Hi, My father recently came across this portrait of Willie Mays that his Father bought him around 1963 on a trip to candlestick park. I couldn't find any info on it besides someone selling the orange portrait sleeve on Ebay. If anyone has any knowledge about this portrait I would very much like to learn more about it.

I don't know a whole lot about these but I do know the ebay seller is dreaming. I've complete examples like yours sell in the $50 range. If you are interested in selling yours, please let me know.

P.S. I will add I think Mr. Bates was a pretty talented artist. He died in 2009. Here's an obit I found:

I knew Bill. He was quite well known here on the Monterey Peninsula for his cartoons in the Carmel Pine Cone newspaper. In fact, even though he passed away five years ago, his old cartoons still run in the newspaper every week ...
