Micky Mantle -Check (56/66)

So we finally pulled our collection out of the closet after 30 years (before the internet) and it seems times have changed.

Can someone give me advice on what is the best way to get these cards to grade/verify these two cards specifically? or how much they might be worth? My father had them signed back in the early 1980's.

Those are nice cards and I'm sure people have been emailing you asking how much. It depends on what you're looking to do. If sell, why invest more in to something just to sell it. If you want it keep, you already know they're good so why do it?

I'd check the cost through PSA's dual authentication service. I recently sent in an autographed Ryan/Kidman rookie and it cost about $30, although I think Mantle is probably a bit more. Like you, I knew the card and the autos were real (I sent it to signings), but it gave me a bit of peace of mind having it spanned. My kid or dog could chew on it now and it likely wouldn't get ruined.

Edited to add: if you do send, I would get a number grade for both the card and the auto. I don't think it costs anymore and the cards and autos are in great shape.

The 57 is definitely the more desirable card. The 66 is common.

I don't think you need to spend the money authenticating them now. I'm sure there are many on here that would pay what you would get selling through eBay anyway, and they wouldn't need PSA/SGC/Etc.
