Default Name your collection in $$$$$

After the great responses from the original thread it has me wondering just how much you guys are sitting on!! I know they are all priceless, but what do you think the value ( taking condition into consideration) of your collection is?

No, this isn't a who's got the biggest di@! thread, merely a gauge of where we all are. I think it will be interesting.

I'll go first!!

I've just dug back into collecting again after several years (I'm 32 now) of being out of the game. In the last 6 months I've added most of these. Currently working on a post war HOF RC collection and about to begin the '59 Fleer T Williams.

Currently around $5,000 BV. Hopefully doubled by the end of the year!!

Lets see those 6 digit collections!!!

My wife just asked me the same question last week! So I had to go inventory it and run a report for her. Let's just say she wasn't impressed, she wanted it for vaction home someday not just a vaction.

I think you'll have a hard time getting people to list the value of their collection on an open forum. It's just not a smart or safe thing to do.

Here's an example of what can happen:

I'm not sure if I buy the whole story as it was told, but it just doesn't make good sense to let strangers know what you have. It would be like starting a thread asking how much money you have in the bank.

At least that's my $.02

Talking

Based on the price of $50.00 a ton and a 5,000 count box weighing 20 pounds, I would say it is worth a little over $200.00 to recycle it.

Yeah, you may be right on that. As much as we (you guys really b/c I don't have anything to brag about yet) talk about the singles, sets, etc. one could probably guess!

Just thought it would be an interesting thread.

I HOPE NOONE TAKES OFFENSE!!

Default Value Of Collections

We could all give the value in rupees. Then, no matter what it was worth, it would seem like a lot more and only a few could figure it out anyway

Ha- great idea.

mods- if you want to delete the thread I don't think it will hurt any feelings. Judging the temp of the few replies I think this one has crashed and burned.
