Default Any idea on what to do with this 1956 Mantle PSA 1?

I have what is quite possibly the best PSA 1 in existence. Should I sell it myself in the holder and let the card speak for itself or consign it with PWCC?

I would pop it out of the holder and sell it raw.

Accurately describe any condition issues and then let the bidders decide for themselves.

I think you could definitely get more money for it raw rather than graded.

I'm guessing the back is what killed it?

crack and sell it raw would seem the best option.

Edges are fine. The 1956 series is notorious for that "rough cut" look. I would be worried if it DIDN'T look like that! I have no idea what to value it at. I know cards that look better than their grades usually command a premium. Just thinking about what to do with it.

Looks like water damage and maybe some paste residue?

Not a bad card at all.

Nice "1" Bobby, I agree that you'd do better selling it raw and accurately describing the issues on the back.

Bobby it's a fantastic card of The Commerce Comet! Great pickup my friend. I remember reading his book My favorite summer 1956

Steve, that is exactly what it looks like to me too. That it might have been scrapbooked one time along time ago. You have to tilt it in the light to see some some of faint glazing look to it. But it is hardly noticeable at all unless at a certain angle.

Definitely looks a bit water damaged, but otherwise a very nice card. I've been looking for a graded 56 mantle to finish my set... If you are thinking of selling it as is...
