Default 1918 World Series scorecard program

I just got back from a very interesting auction. The same auction that one minute was selling silverware, garden weasels, and boxes of books for a dollar had an outstanding collection of World Series programs and ticket stubs. The best item was a 1918 world series scorecard. They actually had two. I was unable to find any reference to this version. I ran it up to over $2k and dropped out since I thought the other bidder might not take both as they were sold choice. Unfortunately he took both, leaving me to wonder if this version may have been as expensive as the Red Sox versions I have seen. I had it well covered at the site but was outbid by a phone bidder. Does anyone have information on this version? Just curious.

If there's no price on it maybe it was a newspaper insert? No idea just guessing here.

Default 1918 World Series Program

I have only ever seen that version once before in the past 25 years. I believe Mastro had one in the late 1990s. Not sure of its origin or how it was issued as I have never seen the interior pages. It does say "Official" on it which is odd as it is not the official Red Sox or Chicago version but this could of been done to confuse would be buyers outside of the park where it was probably sold.

Even though I was at the auction I did not get a chance to see the interior. I got there an hour before the items went up but when I ask to see in the locked case they said the preview was the night before. As I mentioned the auction personnel were more interested in selling the rest of the household and other lower end antiques then accommodating someone who came from out of town. I guess it didn't matter as it still brought the money. It seems like they may have posted an interior shot of the scorecard but the pictures were all taken down by Thursday night. I figure they will show up somewhere in the next few months.
