Default Why only the 79 topps Earl Campbell?

Anyone know why they only made a 79 card of his? I'm too young to have sen him play, and honestly just figured that he only played a couple years. Didn't realize his career was as long as it was, so why only the 79 card?

Contract disputes between him and Topps over using his likeness on further cards. There are actually several cards in the 79 set picturing Campbell. Not sure offhand but I think a record breaker-type card and at least 1 league leader card that I can recall.
