Is the auction really over this early?

Silly me, I see each lot closes individually.

Was able to get this one. I can see why Goodwin left this photo out of the Old Judge card insert series. The Crooks autographed cabinet was also cool...did not get that one.

Did someone get an amazing deal on the Tip Top Barney Dreyfuss? Or has this card dropped in value recently?

Very surprised to see how much the St. Mary's program w/Ruth went for.

I thought this was a really cool item, and I've always wanted a Gehrig autograph, so I was thrilled to pick this up!

Agreed. Great item. It is one of the first mentionings of "Babe" instead of George Ruth, incredible he was called Babe as a teenager, but it is a big number and Ruth was listed as being with Baltimore in the piece. But it is a special item.

I bid on it but didn't win. I think that at first, when he made the Hall, everyone wanted one. Then most of those folks got one....now the prices have subsided a bit due to demand (which I always say is the most important value estimator). Great looking card and congrats to the winner.

I didn't bid in the auction but now I wish I had. Some great bargains were had. I have to wonder if the auction running smack over the national didn't hurt bidder turnout.

Leon, well said.

It's amazing what happens to the prices when a few people are no longer in the picture.

Default My only pick-up

Nice pick-ups everyone.

I've wanted to pick up some Fatimas for quite some time. I was happy to win this lot.

I also had the Dreyfuss and the two Cracker Jacks lots on my watch list, but I decided to save some money for the next auction.

Best regards,

Joe

One of the cards I always follow is the Ed Delahanty Mayo Cut Plug. I know cards in BVG holders often don't bring the same prices as identical cards in PSA or SGC holders, but the Delahanty BVG4 in this auction seemed like a huge bargain at $2,700 with the BP. REA and Clean Sweep have each sold "good" versions of the Delahanty card in recent months for $2,600 and $2,100, respectively.

I guess it depends what you're after. All of the lots that I had placeholder bids on went high, IMO.

Darn Individually closing lots did me in this time . I was putzing around and didn't up my bid on the boxing e75/76/79/t225-1/2 lot. Someone got a good deal; would have gone higher.

But I did win T218 raw near set (149/153) for less than $5/card, so I can't complain .........
