Cy Young wins last game
It was on this day in 1911 that Cy Young won his final game (511th) by beating the Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0. Pitching for Boston (NL), he was 44 years old and would finish the season at 4-5 with a 3.71 ERA (he was 3-4, 3.88 with Cleveland earlier in 1911).
With that ERA today, some teams would consider signing him for the 2010 season. Cheers, Mike
