Good ones, Anthony. I really like the 1973 reprint cards...even though they are not really a reprint, and even though Topps screwed up 3 of the 8 cards in the set.

After attending last years National, I kind of knew Bob was not using that Zest soap

I've never even seen a scan of a 71's Rookie All Star Proof, let alone a printed example. I have seen at least a scan of every other pre-1980 Topps test issue but that one remains elusive. Anyone have one they can post?

I have a set of those ( Bob F too) ...tough set. One of the toughest 80 sets...harder than the eEcased and harder than the 1985 Minis.

The 1982s can also be found in blueless ( same as blackless but missing blue rather than black ink)..but probably only 1/2 the number of blackless

Anthony, I think these would fall under Oddball cards! They are very rare and extremely difficult to find. Here are a few of mine. A PSA 4 or 5 is considered very high grade in this issue.

After what happened in '58, it might be Ed Bouchee's probation officer.

If Ed had pulled that one today, as a registerd offender I do not think he would have been eligible to go to ballparks after his suspension

Picked up this oddball near-set a few months back
Cool seeing the stars of the '50's in different poses
then what were used to seeing.

The image on the '68 proof of Gibson does not appear to be reversed but he is posing as a lefty. Was he messing with the photographer?

Howard, in a word, yes. You are correct it is not a reversed negative. Gibson was messing around and posed left handed in this never issued proof. Randy

A 1990 Donruss Blue/White test Yaz & Knudson. Both are double faced:

1988 Topps cloth w/ partial not for sale stamp. Not really a test card but a 1990 UD Griffey no copyright on back variation (pop 2), also have two more in GAI 9.

The Esslinger's Home Run Derby Card is awesome, I have never seen one of those. Any idea if they issued the entire Home Run Derby set in that format or only a couple players?

Anyways, here are a few other neat odd-ball items:

Anyone have a scan of the '68 3D Brooks Robinson? How many are known to exist?
