Default Want to know who T206museum.com is?

His eBay name is 800hitter.

He's selling a Drum tobacco pouch on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/GAI-7-5-SEALED-T206-DRUM-PACK-POSS-HONUS-WAGNER-TY-COBB_W0QQitemZ300293559360QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_SM _Sports_Cards?hash=item300293559360&_trksid=p3286. c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39 %3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

The same pouch is being sold on T206museum.com:

http://www.t206museum.com/page/drumpack.html

NOTE: The cert number is the same. Ne1 know who 800hitter is?

Couldn't you get that information directly from ebay? I have had to do it with bad purchases.

I emailed them they said they don't own those packs. They said the owner of those tobacco packs sold his Drum pouch a few wks ago but lost in the mail. May be the seller "800hitter" is the one who took/stole the pouch.

Here's another that 800hitter is selling on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300265050249&category= 44827&_trksid=p3907.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DSI%26its %3DI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D15%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D54

"My pack listed here is an absolute steal compared to those prices!!!" Did he steal this one also? "CHECK OUT MY INSANE BUY-IT-NOW SALE PRICES THIS WK ONLY"

No tax stamp. No mention of a factory number, etc. I have seen others that he has sold in the past, and they were just like this one. Very little info to authenticate with. Overhyped as usual.

I tend to be wary of eBay sellers who use the words steal and insanity in the same lot description.

From the Drum auction:

"...open it and take your chances on striking it big to find a Honus Wagner..."

Is a Drum backed Wagner even possible?

No, but the line doesn't say it is possible. Just says you'd be taking a chance. You'll have about as much chance of pulling a T206 Honus Wagner as you have of Natalie Portman asking you to marry her within the next 48 hours, but technically that counts as a chance.

Theoretically, it's possible an elephant will fall on my head the next time I check the mail (Thank God it's Sunday).

To pursue a bit more,

It is possible that the first bit of news I read tomorrow is about how a fellow, the newly engaged fiancee of Natalie Portman, died on his way to check his mail when an elephant fell upon his head... I think I'll let my secretary check to mail tomorrow.

I owe it all to Cycleback, who fed me a great straight line. Poor Natalie...
