It's interesting, Wilt seems ranked too low IMO on most of those lists you see.

Here is another Warriors center who is way under-appreciated. One of only eight players with at least 3 NBA scoring titles and 3 All-NBA 1st team selections.

As I recall he retired before he reached 30, what happened there?

Knee injury. That was before the arthroscope. Warriors needed a new center so they drafted Wilt haha.

I agree. He was the greatest offensive threat in history.

PPG 30.1 (#2 all time)

RPG 22.9 (#1 all time)

ASTPG 4.4

Career Triple-Doubles 78 (#6 all time and #1 among centers)

Yeah, I am looking for a nice Johnston. One day a tiny percentage of these new boom collectors will want to look back.

I spent the first of the year trimming my upper 70s to bring these two grail cards into the Holy Trinity (joining Wilt). I'm dead broke but it had to be done.

Nice cards and great choices. Mikan was as dominant as any player ever was in the game. And Russell has more rings than fingers.

Very nice to get a Dr. J without the elbow dot!

Yup! Some common print defects drive me crazy. I had a PSA 9 Shaq Topps Gold rookie with the "scratch" print defect, and it drove me crazy! I kept on looking at it.

I have been getting raw cards to eventually grade when things get cheaper. For basketball I have been getting a bunch of 1996 Topps 50th. I have a PSA 9 of this card already, but if I seem them in this type of shape, I won't pass them up. These are completely undervalued IMO, condition sensitive, lower POP than Topps Chrome versions, and will never hulk.

Just upgraded my Alcindor rookie disaster (making something better out of my Murphy's law '69 set situation) thanks to a fellow forum member who sold me this very nice 3 for a fair price:

I saw that card and agree that it was a great price! I’m in a similar situation with the 69-70 set and have a Kareem (or Lew) that looks like it was stuck on some kids bike spokes all summer long! Very cool and underrated set though.

My original one is raw and badly creased. Nothing really disastrous, but most of the other HOFers in the set are fairly nice, so it was out of place.

Now I'm roped into upgrading the other low end cards in the set into somewhere in the grade 4-6 range. About two dozen of them with Havlicek and Walt Frazier being the only big ones. The cards are so fragile that I'm surprised many survived in nice shape

This was my biggest basketball pickup of last year. Pop 4, super tough card.

Nice Wilt. Sure looks spiffy in that black holder. It has that recurring red mark at the top left. I thought that was part of the design until I realized it wasn't. I have to get mine slabbed some day.
