Well I missed the National as I do most years of recent. Anyone pick up some stellar boxing cards there? Which dealer had the best material for sale?

Randy

Hi Randy and Adam...

Picked up:
2 Cuban Romeo y Julieta's of Jack Johnson and Harry Greb
2 E77's
5 E78's
2 T219 Red Cross's
6 T223 Dixie Queens
1 N269 Lorillard Mechanic's
1 E211 York Caramel
1 T227 of a boxer
1 N43 of a boxer
4 N184's of boxers, very nice group

and then my favorite pick-up...a 1936 LaSalle Hats envelope with the(what Adam W. and I think)complete set inside. The Joe Gans was uncat before this. These cards are as thin as e50's but much larger so they are usually found in deplorable condition.

Tough question Alan. Its the only one I've seen. I think most of the LaSalle Hats are sold for little money because it is still an issue that people do not really know about and so they get sold along the lines of Exhibit cards. The issue is very tough but I'm sure you could find one mis-listed on Ebay for under $20 if wait long enough.
