Default 1887 Kilroy Card- looking for

Hey, has anyone ever come across an 1887 Matthew Kilroy Baltimore Orioles card? My husband is related to this player and was named after him. I am determined to find him this family keep sake as a gift but I hear try are crazy hard to find.

Kilroy cards are hard to find, but you can get them if you look at auctions, ebay, here. His cards are popular because he holds the record for most strikeouts in a season ever in major league history. He is also only shown with Baltimore, a team that has a few collectors going for each card. Good luck with your search

Kilroy was issued 7 different poses in Goodwin & Company's Old Judge set, often referred to as N172 cards. The cards were first issued in 1888 and most were re-issued in 1889 with two of his poses being issued in 1890 when Matt jumped to Boston in the Players' League (these are tough variations to obtain). There is one rather strange error card from 1888 in which Kilroy is shown with Boston (National League team). Matt would play the entire 1888 season with the Baltimore Orioles.

You might want to reach out to Jay Miller as he may have a spare pose of Kilroy he could offer you. His email address can be found in the 19th century Buy/Sell/Trade area in a post near the top.
