Default 1968 Topps Milton Bradle

Dave---There is a checklist in the 2011 Catalog,,,and I think there is one in the 2010 too. Did you look under Topps as opposed to Milton Bradley. It will be under 1968 Topps. If you don't find it I can fax or mail you a copy. Or scan it and post it here

Kind of happy this went un-sold on the BST, looks great in a SGC holder.

Thanks Al, I found it under 68 Topps.

Another question - How and why did Topps choose who they did for this game set?

Default Topps Milton Bradley

David---I don't know the answer to that. Maybe Dave Hornish has some idea. There were also football and some other sports cards in the full game set. I think Dave has a picture of the game box and contents on his blog site A full game set went for a lot of money, I think over $ 5K , not long back

Whoever chose the 1968 Topps baseball cards for the Milton Bradley Win-A-Card set picked out seven random horizontal rows of eleven cards from the uncut sheets of the first two series of 1968 Topps Baseball. That would explain why they didn't include Roberto Clemente, Willie Mays, Tony Perez, Don Drysdale, Billy Williams, and Willie Stargell, but did include mediocre players like Chuck Hartenstein, Danny Frisella, and Bobby Locke. They did include Nolan Ryan, Hank Aaron, Tom Seaver, Brooks Robinson, and Rod Carew, though. Two rows each were chosen from the first two sheets pictured and three rows from the third sheet pictured. I would guess that the three rows of 1967 Topps Football cards and the two rows of 1965 Topps Hot Rod cards were chosen the same way from the original uncut sheets.

Great info, thanks Cliff. I know from working on it the set is pretty ho hum as to it's contents. The Ryan is the most expensive but easiest to find. It shows up on ebay all the time. The commons are harder, partly I think because, unlike the Cox and Brinkman cards, which are notable for their front differences, many sellers don't know what they are since they involve only subtle back differences

Default Received my SGC sub

Got my recent sub back from SGC. Pretty happy with the results -- getting closer to my SGC 84 or higher 1962 Cardinals team set.

Thanks for looking!

Andy

This is a bit newer but a really cool piece. Uncut sheet of 1992 High School All Stars, including Derek Jeter (first card). Thanks, Chris!

Great piece, Jarrod, never seen one of those before. The Classic and Front Row uncut sheets from that time period are much more common than yours.
