Are you asking why people say "For Sell" rather than "For Sale"?

You can blame that on our wonderful education system in this country.

That's what you write when your item "needs sold"

I've heard the mixing tenses thing is an Ohio/western PA thing, but I've seen it from people in lots of places.

Same reason you look closely at cards through a "loop."
