Does anyone know anything about the 1910 E-UNC Candy issue? I found it in the 2006 standard catalog of baseball cards on page 145...I was wondering if anyone has one of these they can scan or any info would be great! Thanks!!!

Have never seen one of those before. Is that another case of "Cy" actually being a photo of "Irv" Young? Doesn't really look like Cy to me. Of course I don't have any Cy Young cards to compare it to, but I do have Irv Young.

They just had that same tyoe of card on EBAY of CHristy Mathewson and it was SGC graded 40 and it was a buy it now for like 1500.00, it was mixed in with about 10,000 other BINS because it was a .10 listing day. I was real tempted to pull the triger but I did not. Simply because I have never seen one of these cards before, I really like them though.

If you click the link to my last auction on this site and check lot #44, you can see a picture of a Mathewson. SGC wouldn't grade it because it was handcut, don't understand why the one on ebay was graded. Could be the same card for all I know.

Just checked ebay and saw it was in fact the same card. Just great. Glad to see SGC kicked it back to me and then graded it for the winning bidder. Love that consistency.

It sold for $644 with the buyer's premium. I can only imagine I left money on the table because I had to offer it ungraded.

I don't think so. These cheap fixed pice sales on ebay bring out the wishful thinking prices. My SGC 1910 E-UNC Wagner that was the source of so much controversy here sold for 677.98.

Paul- you very well may be right, but if the card was slabbable, that would have been a better way for me to present it in my auction.

There is also a completely different set labeled as being from 1910 and W-Unc. Below is a picture of one that I just recently purchased out of the bst and will scan once I get it. There is a possibility they were cut either from a candy box or a notebook cover, either way I think they're neat and they don't show up too often.

Nice pickup Zach. According to an earlier thread they are cutout from a notebook.

W-UNC, Dan McKee, and SGC

Glen V posted a scan of the notebook cover, but it is no longer there unfortunately.

I believe BOTN picked up the Cobb in the last Lipset auction for around 1060.

Sorry to hijack the E-UNC discussion. I wish I had picked up Barry's Mathewson, they are definitely cool.

Zach

Thanks for showing your Bush card from whatever issue it's in.

Several years ago I had Matty and Johnson from this "set"; and, I
couldn't identify what issue these were from. I used to display them
on my table at the Philly show, hoping someone could clue me in.

I never did find out (until now) and I sold the two cards to someone
who had to have every HOF player's card. He offered me some nice
$$ for them, so I just couldn't refuse the deal.
