Default T206 On Player, All Backs

Posted By: Lee Behrens

I was curious if anyone had all the possible backs with a certain player? I know the 150 series is the easiest but those HINDUs are a pain in the rear. I have tried getting as many Duffy's and Crandall with cap but I am stuck at 7 each for them.

Anyone have any better success?

Lee

Why did you select Duffy and Crandall (w/cap) ?

Both these cards are in the 460-only Series which limits you to acquiring
them in a large variety of backs. I would think to get a player with the
with the most possible # of backs you would select players who fall in the
150/350 Series or 350/460 Series category.

I recall hearing about a Green Cobb that was a "rebacked" Drum. Does anyone know anyone that has a Drum Cobb and what the front is?

In addition to Brian E's impressive list....Drum, EPG, Hindu, and Tolstoi
are possible for the Red Cobb.

I have never seen or know of any Cobb with a DRUM back. But, a Red one
and a Bat off Shoulder Cobbs are possible candidates.

A Green or a Bat on Shoulder Cobb with a DRUM back is impossible.

There are several other threads where peoeple have voiced their opinion on the Cobb backed Cobb variation and whether it is a T206.

Are there any other collectors out there that focus on different backs for specific players such as what Lee and I are doing?

brian, is there a checklist for all players with all their possible backs? I've built a somewhat small but gradually growing speaker with different backs collection...im curious as to how close i am to completing it entirely.

I have a T206 Detroit collection with many different backs for each player.
Here are a couple examples.

Bush, Detroit - have these backs:

Broad Leaf 350
Carolina Brights
cycle 350
EPDG
Old Mill
Piedmont 350
Polar Bear
sovereign 350
Sweet cap 350, 25
Sweet cap 350, 30

Missing - Drum and tolstoi (these are possible, but never confirmed).

Willetts, Detroit - have these backs:
AB350 no frame
AB460 no frame
Blank back
Cycle 460
Drum
EPDG
Old Mill
Piedmont 350
Piedmont 460, 25
Piedmont 460, 42
Polar Bear
Sovereign 350
Sweet cap 350, 25
Sweet cap 350, 30
Sweet Cap 350-460, 42 with scroll
Tolstoi
Uzit
17 different - but there are still 11 more possible (none confirmed).

I went with the Crandall a& Duffy because I got afew cheap and figured why not try. I am trying to get the 6 George Browne, Chicago cards I have yet to see an EPDG back though.

It would be interesting to see if any of the readers can help to confirm any of Art's missing Willetts

Lee
