Default Pedro Baez

I am a life long Dodger fan. That time frame encompasses over 50 years. It's hard for me to not watch a Dodger game when they are on TV in the east where I live, but Pedro Baez has convinced me to walk away from the game when he is on the mound. He is the poster child for implementing a pitch clock. The players behind him in the field must hate it when he pitches. I don't know how they stay focused on the game. Every year I keep hoping he will be sent to another team, but alas, the grinding wait continues. He pitches just good enough to be retained.

Kenley Jansen isn't exactly a poster child for fast work either.

Should I change teams?

Actually I think the idea of a pitch clock for pitchers ranks second only to requiring term limits for all politicians as the best proposition out there.

I might limit the number of foul balls a batter can hit unitl he's called out. Once in a while it's high drama, but for the most part all the at bats that are extended endlessly by intentionally fouling off pitches get really tedious. Yes, in some cases it's not intentional, it's due to great pitching, but it seems pretty obvious much of it is intentional.

If you're good enough to intentionally foul off a ball with a full swing, you earned the extra pitch.

I'm pretty much a purist, but I preferred the game when it moved faster and there wasn't a mini drama in between every pitch.

I don’t believe there are foul balls in cricket.

Yet their matches take two or three days.
