The grumpy looking gentleman on the left is Barkley. The concerned gal on the right is Princess Leia. These labradoodles are a constant source of joy.

Default Woof

It's an old photo (Christmas 2014) but here's mine:

The blur on the left is my mom tossing him a treat. Wonder will turn 11 in a little under a month. He had a cancer scare about a year ago, which he beat. He needed surgery to remove lumps from his leg and stomach, but he pulled through ok. He's getting arthritis now in his hind legs, but he's still a puppy at heart. As of this writing, he is trying to turf me out of my seat on the couch.

Awesome dogs(all pets) everyone. Like how several have sports related names. We call our dog Bubba, it is short for Bubba Chuck. Yes I am an Allen Iverson fan.

Thanks! Yes, the seat is from the original Yankee Stadium. I picked it up earlier this year. It's amazing how many coats of paint you can see when you look at the back.

This cool dog is a year and half old Australian Shepherd-Poodle mix. Adopted her about a year ago and still working on some of her anxiety issues. She's a sweetheart and hardly sheds at all!

While misplaced, this thread has been one of the most enjoyable ones I've seen...what a great bunch of dogs!

I adopted my rescue dog, a terrier-mix named Buddy, five years ago and my life has been ultimately richer ever since.

He a sweet dog who greets me with kisses every time I come home. It's impossible to stay in a bad mood when you get greetings like that.

We can all learn a little from our pets.

So, while Leon should move this thread (IMO) to the off-sports watercooler, we should not be scolded for enjoying it.

Here's my Buddy:

Wrigley and Ernie - both pics are a couple of years old and both dogs a bit larger now. Wrigley also has more gray around his muzzle. Ernie just turned 3yrs old, but still as no trouble walking under Wrigley.

This is Alfie. He loves being outside and watching the neighborhood from the window. He wears his Detroit Lions Jersey sometimes in the fall and winter. Here he just got a haircut and has his jellybean scarf.

I didn't pay too much attention to this thread at first because I figured it was about beat up baseball cards.

The pretty girl on the left is Jellybean, she's a 4 yr old Border Collie Mix. The cute little guy on the right is Hershey, he's a 4 yr old Spaniel/Dachshund mix. Both are shelter rescues and each turns 5 in December. They're very valuable members of our household and pretty good friends themselves.

This is one of those rare times they're both sitting still and were actually being quite cooperative so I could take their picture.

Might be adding a 3rd in the upcoming weeks as well

We adopted Trixie from the Second Change SPCA in Plano, Texas (a second chance shelter that rescues dogs from kill shelters) in October of 2014. The vet surmised she was 1 1/2 to 2 years old due to the wear on her teeth, so we'll celebrate her 4th birthday this October. She seems to like pre-war Goudeys. Very well marked Boston Terrier!

This is Buck, an eight year old yellow lab rescue. He's considered the Pete Gray of our canine community. Approx. 18 months ago, Buck lost a front leg...literally!
The leg had swelled up like a war club and could not be repaired surgically or rehabbed, testing did not give a definitive diagnosis. Upon amputation, the leg was sent via UPS to the University of Colorado to be biopsied. Unfortunately, the appendage never reached its destination.....UPS lost the leg. Imagine the look on the individual's face who opened that package!

This is Penny. She's kind of a lap dog. She's also a humane society rescue.

This is Max. Max is so dumb, he was once trapped for hours after a throw pillow fell on top of him.

I'm not kidding.

He's very sweet, though, which is breed-consistent. He's a long-term foster.

This is Merlin. Somebody dumped him on the street when he was a puppy, and my wife adopted him after he got taken to the vet hospital where she worked.

He's my bud. He's 14, his face is whiter than in this picture (which isn't but a year or so old), he's down a gall bladder and some other parts after a surgery last December, his kidneys are failing, and he has the kind of gas that makes you want to claw your eyes out and Gorilla Glue your nostrils.

But he's my bud.

Funny. I almost inserted the same comment about MY wife.

And, nothing but admiration for Leon and other Board members who take in rescue dogs. Doing God's work. I expect my next dog to be a rescue dog as well.

This thread is stupid and doesn't belong in a sports card forum. I think Leon should be consistent in regards to OT topics. I can't stand them on other message boards and can't stand them here. Either relegate them to the water cooler section or prohibit them entirely. I don't come here to sift thru dog threads when I want to learn about cards.

This is Buddy. He's a rescue dog who was given two weeks to live when we got him. That was 3-1/2 years ago. He's basically the perfect dog - never barks, gets along with all other animals, can be outside without a leash, never misbehaves, and is always happy. His favorite thing in the world, which he doing in this picture, is to chase balls at the park. He brings an incredible amount of joy to our lives.

Default My Dogs

The love of my life, my soulmate, was Rufus T Dog, a redish Golden Retriever, the first dog pictured. He crossed the bridge in 2011. We rescued him at age four and had him for eleven years. It took two dogs to replace him. First Gus, the dog with the snaggle-tooth, we rescued him at four months. A year later my wife got me a Golden Retriever puppy - Penny Lane, Penny for short. Then my wife left me but thankfully the dogs stayed

As you can see in the final picture they love to wrestle.

This is Nico, my best friend who basically never leaves our side and needs a solid 20 hours of beauty sleep a day. She gets it too as I will never be able to pay her back for the support she gave me through two years of cancer treatment by keeping my spirits up. I can only try by spoiling the crap out of her.

These are our American Bulldogs, Nikki and Ella. Nikki's picture is from when she was younger - she's approaching 11 now. Ella will be six months old in early September.

This is Mickey, our four-year-old rescue. I let my kids believe she's named for a mouse.
