John---Charade is a good choice. I like that movie as well; the music is mesmerizing. You'll laugh; my favorite scene is when Audrey Hepburn and her friend rush to see Monsieur Felix, and he's there looking lovingly at those incredibly rare stamps he had traded with Jean-Louis. As a collector, I loved listening to him briefly describe why each stamp was so significant, and their incredible value. I remember his line, "Oh, the value is unimportant" to convey their priceless nature. Yeah, good selection, John. --- Brian Powell

Brian,
That stamp scene is great...and as collectors we can certainly relate to his feelings.

The Verdict with Paul Newman is back on Max. I believe it's his best role. His courtroom summation is one of the best pieces of acting prowess you'll ever see.

Speaking of Paul Newman. Saw Cool Hand Luke recently. Hadn’t seen it in decades. Great performance in that one.

Last night was the first time in a month that my wife and I could watch a movie (last movie we saw was on July 4th, in theaters). Before that might have been another month. Anyway...she came to me and asked to watch Butch Cassidy. Remembering this thread I recommended The Verdict. We started the film and she said, "I didn't want to watch old men, I wanted young attractive men." LOL

Anyway, it was a great movie. My wife was very tense, feeling very bad for the whole situation. We finished the movie at midnight. Thanks for the recommendation.

we saw Asteroid City on July 4th. What a strange movie! we liked it, because we like strange movies.

Since we're talking about Indy films, have you seen MOONRISE KINGDOM?
