Default Fun article: “A Nine-Year-Old Gets Hooked on Baseball History, Tobacco Cards”

I was this kid at the same age (well, a year or two older).

Great story and hopefully he has that Purtell for a long time. Thanks for sharing.

Default Nice article which leads to others of interest

Dave... Thanks for the link. It's an interesting human interest story. Sounds like the youngster is a candidate for this website. A number of other articles caught my eye and I spent a good half hour on them. Steve

That's great. I'm happy to see a dad able to share his interests with his kids. They are the future of the hobby.

I was in Chicago last weekend at William Chappell's table when the kid and his father were there. He had already purchased the Purtell card and then bought the Goudey from William. His dad showed me the T206 and told me the story. Kind of neat to see it posted here.

Great story and I like the detail that his first tobacco card matched his last name. Those were some nice packs he was checking out I think I saw that setup last time I was in Chicago. Hope to pass that very table this year!
