T205, T206, T207 Blank Backs

I was talking to Leon the other day and he said make sure not to only post when you are pissed about something, you have knowledge about things and should share it. He is right so I want to get on a new page and off this grading company stuff.

I am curious to see others blank backs. This is something I am starting to go after and also the proof cards like Leon's T206 Matty intrigue me. Does anyone know how many blank backs of these sets exist?

I can tell you that T205 blank backs are far rarer than t206 or t207 blank backs...I have only seen a handful in 20 years...I own three and will try to scan them later this evening.

Having collected the T205/6/7 cards ... especially rare backs and printing errors for many, many years I have the following observations on scarcity.

For All T205 / T206 / T207 issues --- the vast majority of blank backs are hand cut.

T205 -- Blank backs from this issue are truly rare. I have never seen more than one blank back for an individual player from this series. I'd say that they are roughly as difficult as a Drum back (maybe more so) -- which is to say TOUGH.

T206 -- Blank backs have seemed to 'pop' lately in their valuation....but they are not super rare. I'd place them in the same general neighborhood as a 'Lenox'. In contrast T206 blank back proofs are presumably unique to the player.

T207 -- Blank backs for this issue are also somewhat common. I have seen lots as large as a dozen of them trade hands.

I wish I had one to share.

I missed a T206 Willis on ebay about a year and a half ago. It sold for $130ish. I had just started looking for a Blank HOFer, and thought that they must be easy to find since I found that one after a few weeks of looking. I haven't seen a HOFer come across ebay since, and wish I would have big a good bit more.

Dan, let me know when you want to send the P42 Chase Port back my way. I have been kicking myself in the ass, ever since I sold that one to you!!

Small world it is. Check the BST. If I have something for sale it goes there for a few days then to ebay. I always have it cheaper here and leave it up till it sells either here or Ebay.

be careful when buying these-easily altered 50 dollar cards turn in to 300 dollar cards.
I can see some image on the backs of some of your cards-not sure what this means if anything -just want to say be cautious.

The blank backs I have seen appear to have been hand cut...

They very well could have been. There were not really many rules prohibiting that type of behavior then. Ever wonder how a diamond cut card came about. loaded incorrectly when cut. What about the QC for the focus on some? May have been fine to them And as far as the hand cut goes. If the boss gave you a sheet of cards to cut by hand and you had a few to drink or maybe a few sheets to cut I bet by the end they would be chopped.

The T207s were extremely scarce until 5-6 years ago when a huge find occurred. I know I bought several at the time and subsequently sold them off.
The T206s pop up every know and then. I bought a group of 3 cards about 15 years old, a Heinie Wagner red Hindu a Bender blank back and one other oddball card. Wish I still had them

Is it just me, or do the T206's and T205 in the original post have some bleed through to the back?
