Several pictures were taken, they will be posted soon. Everybody had a great time. We kept waiting for Hal to fly in from Maui, we're disappointed he didn't have his priorities straight.

Actually, we don't leave for Maui until tomorrow...

so I "could" have physically attended the National...

but my wife said "No."

Such are the breaks.

What?

Did the camera break due to the ugliness of the subject matter??

Given this recent information, I think Hal's collection should be renamed to reflect it's true ultimate decision maker....the "Mrs. Hal Lewis HOF Baseball Collection".

Elliot:

There is a "Catch-22" to the whole situation.

One on hand...it is a GOOD thing that she thinks baseball cards are for kids and that my whole collection is a worthless waste of time. She has NO IDEA what I spend on these things. That's GOOD, believe me!

BUT...

it's pretty hard to explain why I have to fly to Chicago to meet people and talk about things and buy things that are "for kids and worthless." She might start wising up. Don't want that!

You're a lucky guy Hal. If my wife noticed thousands of dollars missing from the checking account every month I'd be in big trouble.

Hal, just do what I do...say nothing about the National...tell her you are going to treat her to a weekend in Chicago. Then give her some $$ and say that she should go shopping and have some fun. In the meantime you hotfoot it out to the show.

I ended up the official photographer for the dinner. I still need to edit and resize the photos. This is the group shot that will end up in Old Cardboard with everyone properly identified. I'll also be posting other pics from the National.

I dont know who it is but whoever is sitting bottom row,2nd from right would fit well in my type "card" collection since i like errors and he seems to have a double image on the face.I dont currently own a net54 poster yet as they never seem to show up on ebay for sale.So if hes for sale please let me know(no back scans needed)

Its also neat to see Tom Hanks is a member of our site and funny to see while the picture was being taken Lee couldnt overcome his euphoria of being pictured with him and just stared and smiled.Someone photoshop a thought bubble over his head that says "Peter Scolari was the real star of bosom buddies but its still cool to see you here Tom"

LOL... that would be me.. Maybe I could at least get an "authentic" grade from those who attended the dinner.

I wonder how that happened.. I can assure you that I don't have three eyes and two noses!

the frankenface occurred becuase I used a photo stiitching process that melded 3 pictures together to make one big picture. Scott was on the edge of one of the pictures and changed position between the time it took me to take two pictures. Everyone else got put together correctly.I'm not a wiz with Photoshop, so hopefully Bret can take Scott's face from another picture and replace the one this one.

Under the circumstances, with the small space and large number of folks in the picture, I think you did a good job....and thanks to all who attended. The count was about 47. I don't think there were any major issues except I would have liked it to be less noisy and more cohesive (we were a tad bit too spread out). Live and learn.. regards

You did a really great job with the photos... I had forgotten that we had to take the three separate shots to get everyone in!

If nothing else, maybe Brett can just blank out my face and call me "Mr. X"

The picture will reappear in Old Cardboard, and once Brett and I get everyone identified, I will repost the picture with names.
