Default My first t205 sp! (and auction house win, too)!

Just won my first auction house card! In my opinion, a very nice looking Ed Grant piedmont. Bid a little more than I would normally, but with the authentic grade I figured that it might go for lower $ and would be my first short print card. With the authentic grade, I am debating whether or not to crack it out and store it in toploaders like the rest of my budding t205 collection. I am not sure though.

P.S. I popped my cherry on cards more than $30 though! Oh well...

Thanks, I had been looking around for any sp to get me started and was quite happy with this grant. Looks like (to my inexperienced eyes) the bottom has been trimmed. Seems to have that tell-tale depressed edge where the blade was pressed as cutting and even some tearing from the blade as well. If not for the trim, I would guess somewhere in the vg-ex condition.

I am guessing both top and bottom are trimmed from what I see. T205's exhibit a straight cut edge and a rolled edge pending placement on sheet. I believe the right boarder is rolled and the bottom boarder is rolled and the other two look like a sharp cut. I posted something about this a few yrs back. Hope this helps you out.

Andrew is correct...looks like the top and bottom are trimmed. I would break it out and let it breathe with the rest of your t205s.

When I get it in hand I think that is exactly what I will do! Cant wait. Thanks for all of the help, reinforcement and guidance. I will give it a good measure after I crack it for "officialness".

Take a loop to look at the 4 edges of the card, it will show that the new cut edges are clean and squared off. The old edges will be flattened, rolled and show then years of wear. It's good to learn what to look for by having cards in your hands, so this cards like yourself and so many others have said should be cracked out for comparing and learning.

From a fellow t205 guy WELCOME

I know, I know. Hopefully it comes today. I just want to wait as long as I can before I lose my "all cards under $30" notation! Lol
