Centered PSA 5 52 Topps Mays cards have been on the rise also....one recent copy sold for $2350 and another for $2950. Seems like in the not to distant past, a year or two back, that a centered copy of this card was going for $1k-1.5k.

I picked up a centered Mays PSA 6 from Heritage a year ago, and got it (with BP) for $2600. At the time that was a premium, but now I'm glad I paid what I did.

Elephant in the room: when Mays passes away how much do you think this card will fetch then?

I wish I had picked one up back then too. I did get a 51 Mays a couple of months ago though. That card has been going crazy lately too.

JMHO but Banks was neither the player nor celebrity - for better or worse - that Mays was.

I haven't seen much of a Berra spike. Last June, a signed 1953 Topps Berra that had the crap absolutely beaten out of it went for around $60-70; one in much better shape just closed for $89. He is a very common signature and lived a long and full life, so I don't think there will be a run on all things Yogi like there was when Michael Jackson or Heath Ledger died.

+1 And he was a prolific signer, a close second to Feller. My favorite Feller line is that the rarest Feller card is the one he didn't sign.

Seems like prices of most vintage hall of famers especially in high grades have gone up.
