Default One card mailday...

....but it's a good one.

Good news is that it shipped really fast, bad news is that I missed out on $22 eBay bucks because I paid too quickly.

Any other members here win any of these?

Ha! I won one of those too and was thinking the exact same thing. I even thought about it as I was paying that I should wait until morning to see if an ebay bucks offer popped up, but decided to pay instantly. At least I think you got yours for a decent price. I had a nuclear snipe blow up in my face. Oh well, it happens...

Let's just say the price of this card was drastically cut.

Nice Morehouse by the way. I was thinking on bidding on one of them for the type collection, but have decided to concentrate all my future efforts on picking up E98 cards ripped in half.

Now that's a project I can get behind. Very nice looking one there, Andrew! Best of luck on the set. Trying to get them all with a certain grade or just going strictly by eye appeal?

Really, just eye appeal (but usually around 3's and 4's), and centering must be good. Still need Heinie Wagner and Eddie Cicotte. Wagner is tough...

Haha, Leon, 'tis but a scratch!

Ed -- Great cards, thanks for sharing! I, for one, often don't know when to chime in to say "great card!" although I think it often when looking through the pickups thread. I guess I don't want to point out one card and leave others thinking that their cards weren't appreciated as well! So I end up saying nothing...

Anyways, I received this in the mail today...I love this pose with the sunset background.

Cheers,
Steve

Same here (not much of a +1 man). This card always reminds me why in the heck I collect what I do. The design of the Matty is just fantastic, and you have a good looking example. Congrats on joining the Matty horizontal club!

Tony,

Not sure what that Yellowhorse picture is but, on the back it mentions something about the Plain Dealer Library from 1965. The Plain Dealer is the main daily newspaper still operating in Cleveland, Ohio, Possibly came from them and something they did? Not sure but, maybe a place to check with.

Default Milestone

My most recent addition is nothing spectacular...

It is rather significant for me though, as it represents the 200th different front/back combo for my White Sox T206 master set that I'm working on.

Only about 110 more to go 'til it's finished...

Steve, Nice pickup on the Mathewson. I saw that when it was first listed and forgot to come back to it. I did get to continue my e92 obsession this month by picking up a pair of duplicate nadjas.

Default Bill Bergen S74-2

Received this awesome Bill Bergen S74-2 silk from Mark Macrae's recent listing.

Now have 13 of the 15 catchers in the S74-2 set.

Need just Peaches Graham and Admiral Schlei to complete my run of catchers in this set.

This M101-2 came with something I've been looking for a long time, but was curious as to who Mr Charles Barker is. Anyone?

The ink doesn't bother me at all. It looks like the Polar Bear color of ink so to me it adds a little something.

Picked these up from a couple of board members, thanks Tom and Cory. It also seems I have accidentally started a Joss back run so if anybody has any for sale in this range, please send me a PM.

Adam, the ink doesn't bother me either, but it should have been noted on the grade. I have cards with the tiniest pencil mark that got a "mk."

Congrats Aaron on the JJ! Looks amazing. One of the all time great cards no doubt.

I also had this guy left without a signature today. Turns out it looks even better than I thought it would from the ebay pics. What I thought was a right bottom corner tear is just a crease. Compare to the last couple 3's sold!
