What an amazing guitar player. One of my very favorite YouTube music clips. Two geniuses.

There's also one I've seen of just Betts and Gregg Allman. In any version, an essential song. And Blue Sky, not Free Bird or whatever, to me is the ultimate Southern Rock song.

Blue Sky made my final five list for father-daughter dance songs. Of course, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed is even better, although a completely different vibe.

One of my pleasant memories is booking Greg Allman at my Blues Festival, spending time with him and watching him perform Whipping Post on stage.

The sound that came out of Muscle Shoals back then was an incredible time, I can only hope we see a resurgence.

RIP Dickie Betts.

No kidding! I wonder if we should ask Leon to un-ban this guy just long enough for us to make these deals.

God, that's funny!!!

For me, it's "Revival" any day of the week. What an awesome tune! Love it, and it turns out that was the first song Betts wrote for the band. Had no clue. Rest in peace.
