Default Today; May 6, 1937 Zeppelin Hindenburg Airship Went DOWN!

German Zeppelin Hindenburg burst into flames, as it nosed toward the the Naval Air Station in Lakehurst, NJ, on May 6, 1937. It was approximately 7:25 pm. The airship was still some 200 feet above the ground.

Just thought I would post this historical event.

And that incident effectively killed the entire airship business for a century. No use explaining that this only happened because the Germans were using hydrogen instead of helium (because the world's supply of helium was basically controlled by the USA). Ever since that, people just think airships are dangerous fire hazards.

One of the early episodes of Archer pretty much sums it up.
