Default paypal now charges to send a "gift"?

how long has this been the case?

I think they only charge if you gift over a certain amount in a given period of time. Have you been gifting a lot recently? If so, that may explain it.

i was sending over $700

but i have not gifted alot lately, i solved the problem by agreeing to send a money order

I sent 750 the other day and there was no charge. Maybe it was funding with a CC?

I agree with the other posters who stated that paypal only charges if you are using a credit card to fund the gift as this has been my experience too.

i think i was using my bank account...maybe that was it
