Yes they are Octavio, but those actually look decent. prob is, its n ot an "Upgrade letter" just a general one, for a lot, so no pictures.

With their rep, its very possible they could get something that fit the blanket cert description and add the forgeries. Kinda a stretch tho.

Be interested to see other people's opinions on the sigs. Maybe they are a blind squirrel who found a nut in this case?

The lot description in the ALOA is a word-for-word match for a lot sold by Heritage in November 2011:

http://sports.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleN...lotIdNo=108005

As expected, neither of those cuts matches the cuts shown in the Heritage lot.

FWIW, I also could not find a matching lot in any Mastro auction from 2007, so I have no idea what they are referring to there, and assume that to be a red herring thrown in by a copy writer who forgot that Legendary still has Mastro's auction results publicly available and searchable through their website.

Yep, couldn't find in the Spring, August, or October auctions in 2007.

Lance wins the prize. You are correct as the original letter came from the Heritage auction, and as you stated, these are not the Ruth and Gehrig autographs shown with that letter.

Good job Lance!

I also wrote CC and explained the situation to them, along with a link to the original auction at Heritage. Will see if they remove those two auctions, or at least the PSA certs.

Description from the Heritage auction. Exactly as the letter shown on CC.

-----------------------------------------------

Description:
1934 New York Yankees Team Signed Autograph Album with Ruth, Gehrig. Though this edition of the Bronx Bombers did not capture the American League flag, it stands in history as one of the most noteworthy due to its status as the last to feature the rotund Ruth. The Babe appears as one of twenty-six signatures from the '34 Yanks, his blue fountain pen ink rating 8/10, alone on a removed album page bearing a clipped newspaper image of his perpetually smiling face. Also standing alone, and similarly decorated, is a page featuring Gehrig's 9/10 ink offering. Still housed in the album are pages for Sewell (9/10), Combs (9/10), Gomez (9/10), Ruffing (7/10 due to some staining), and Joe McCarthy (9/10), who shares space with Bump Hadley and one other. A few scattered autographs from visiting players share space within the antique volume.

Remove the auctions??? This will happen either when I'm riding my flying pig or ice skating across Hell! Has anyone EVER seen CC remove an auction?

Ken, Wanna race our flying pigs? I have called CC out a few times about certain lots and they do NOTHING. It's all about the buck. They don't care as can be seen every single month with the stuff they are pushing.

This would be based on the premise that CC doesn't know that what they sell is fake well before they list it for sale.

I believe that premise to be false.

Has anyone reached out to psa on this. What can they do about this. It reflects poorly on them that someone is misrepresenting there certificate.

I received this reply from CC.

===========================

we looked up the info. and are removing the items from the auction. Thank you again

They will still show online, but we are protecting the bids.

===========================

Not sure what they mean by this, but since this reply, more bids have been placed on these two items. As far as ever removing an item from their auction, I was successful one time. Pointed out a Babe Ruth signed dollar that was not manufactured until the 1960s. They actually removed that auction.

I just bid on one, and it allowed my bid. I tried to call today, but no answer. I'll try tomorrow.

I think they would quickly remove an auction if they discovered the item was genuine, but that would bring us back to flying pigs.

Totally silly thread, Like asking Al Capone to "please do the right thing"...Come on ......If its a bogus COA its the job of the person who's name is on the COA to attack it and correct it. If they don't that should speak louder than words

Well, believe it or not......

The Ruth and Gehrig have both been pulled from CC auction. Now you can believe in miracles.

That tells me they may be authentic. They are going to sell them in an auction that will bring real money. Just my opinion.

All LOA shenanigans aside, my opinion is that anyone with authentic Ruth and Gehrig cuts to sell would keep them as far away from CC as possible. Even assuming that the consignor knows absolutely nothing about real vs. fake signatures, one look at the prices that CC typically realizes for Ruth and Gehrig cuts vs. what any other legit auction house gets should convince a legitimate consignor who believes what he has to be the real deal to go elsewhere.

While I would agree with something like Ruth and Gehrig autos, I would like to publicly state again that this does not seem to be true for lesser, decent autos. They get far more for the few authentic items they sell, like Musials, Mays, Yaz, etc than any other auction house I've seen.
