Opinions wanted...does this SGC 3 Berra grade look right?

Just back from SGC, not sure if I am missing something? I checked Ebay for Berra cards in SGC 5 and my SGC 3 looks better to me. What am I missing.

I see either a scratch or wrinkle on his mitt/hand if it's a wrinkle that will drop it to a 3 at best. If it's a scratch that will hurt it a decent amount too. Grade may be correct but card does look good for a 3. Just my opinion you never know with the graders.

Nice card! It would have been at least a 4, 5-10 years ago.

If Eddie is right and it is a surface wrinkle or two, I personally think that is the “best” condition issue you can possibly have. Sure, it will lower the technical grade a lot, but IMHO, sure beats other, more obtrusive visual issues.

Remember: buy the card, not the holder. It’s a beautiful looking Berra — congrats!

SGC hammers non-centered cards. This is why your Kaline was only a 1.5. Don’t submit non-centered cards to SGC. It only produces disappointment.

The Berra has some surface issue. Looks like a 4 to me. Great looking 3!
