Default PSA grading question regarding autographs

I have some older autographs that are slabbed by PSA. These are on index cards mostly. I know that they do sportscards and will grade a card with a card grade and an autograph grade.

But here is my question: When a card is a modern card with a certified autograph from the company (for example, if a new card came with a "This autograph is guaranteed by Panini America" statement on the back) and the card is graded with just a single grade, is PSA implying that the autograph itself is legitimate, or are they just grading the card?

Well, you can have the card graded, the auto graded or both graded... Generally, if the auto is graded the flip will say auto grade only...
