Default 1952 Topps Bartirome is here!

I still can't believe it. Just shows you what luck can bring you.

I’m glad he wasn’t a Cub. It’s amazing the con man Cole Bartiromo was able to successfully manipulate the market of this card.

That whole thread was wild. I take it he's still hoarding them?

The collectors and dealers who continued to over pay for this card, rather then boycott it, are partially to blame too. Now, just for a low grade copy, you are looking at high threes. A somewhat decent copy will go for over a grand easy.

I don't see the bottom falling out either. Too much money has been paid out for those to take such a loss now.

This is just a 1952 Topps high number common. Should be in the $75 - $150 range.

Hoarder didn't go for the 1953 Topps card of Bartirome, interesting. I think that was all bullshit too.

He did post that he was going after PSA 7 and up copies of that card, though I don't know how many he won or how serious he was about it.

Some of us decided to bite the bullet (and trust me, it tasted awful) because the desire to have a complete '52 T set was the deciding factor. At least with around $1000 involved for Bartirome.

If it had been, say, $10,000, or if I had to buy directly from Bartiromo at all, then that would've changed everything for me. Never would've even started the build then. At that point, the money and/or principle would've been the overriding factor to have 407/407.

And I imagine plenty of others had a similar mindset. Not something I'd "blame" anyone for.
