Default 4th annual NCAA bracket challenge

Posted By: John E

Since nobody responded to my last post, I decided I'd go ahead and set up this year's tournament.

Here are the instruction for entry:

Log onto ESPN Tournament Challenge:
http://games.espn.go.com/tcmen/frontpage

1. Register for a Free Account
2. After Registering, click on the “create entry” button at the top of the page.
3. Click on “create or join a group.
4. Click on Access “private”
5. Enter search for group “Network54”
6. Enter password “t207”
7. Click on your entry name, and the fun begins…

There are only 50 entries allowed, so sign up soon!

And in case you didn't catch my last post, here's the traveling trophy...

IMPORTANT:

The password is t207...

NOT with a Capital T.

It only accepts the lowercase t.

Fixed the instructions, thanks for catching that. I had copied them from Nick's post from a couple of year's ago and didn't notice the capital T.

So the Chase goes to the person who wins each year?

Interesting, I entered a lower case t207 and it's not letting me enter.

How frustrating! I'm entering the t207 password lowercased, and it's telling me it doesn't match and won't let me proceed.

What do you guys think about everyone putting up a t206 common or goudey common or something like that, and the winner take all?

I'd prefer that this stay a fun bracket with a traveling trophy. If others are interested in a bracket where you put a card, you can easily set up another group. You are allowed 5 entries on ESPN, so creating another group shouldn't be an issue.

No problem registering..... I'm ready.
Totally agree with "fun" challenge, and the Chase holding Trophy is perfect.

By the way, who is the current Champ, and is there a list of past champs ??
(just wondering who I'm going to dethrone ..... ....)

I am the Champion of the inaungarul Net 54 NCAA Bracket. Nick Martinez donated a T206 common for a prize. I decided the Chase with Trophy was more approperiate. I hope it continues to be a travelling trophy. Good Luck to all, I plan on having it return to it's original home.

Nice job on cleaning up my tag John, maybe you can find a way to put the past Champs on it.

By the Way this is the 3rd Annual, I see John lists it as the 4th Annual, if that's the case. I must have won the first 2 because I know Nick was the original donator and I had the "Trophy" until last year.

Apparently ESPN has changed the rules on group size, so there are are plenty of spots available (One group has 99 entrants). So in case you thought you missed the boat, you haven't.

I just got done filling out my bracket for the tournament (w/ the help of Vinnie). Lee would you please go ahead and send me the Chase card b/c it's pretty much locked up that I will walk away with this one easily.

Just some advice to everyone.

Don't waist your time filling out this bracket b/c I will make you look foolish when this is over.

I see that Jay has two brackets entered in the competition. Are we allowed to do that? And is two the limit? I already have five different brackets filled out for the ESPN Tournament Challenge, I'm just wondering about the Net54 group.

It may be a glitch. I know I have two entries listed but only one of them has a filled-out bracket, the other is blank.

I put a second in only because the limit on group size is 99. I WILL NOT accept winning the title with my second entry. First entry is the entry of record. If the second entry won, I'd be really surprised. I think everyone that wants to get in is already in and I don't see problem with people having 2 brakcets. they just need to note which bracket is the one that they want to count. There are over 50 people, I think this is easily twice as many people as we've ever had, so this should be a lot fun. With this many people, everyone will not be able to enter 2 brackets, thus the need to not which one you are using for the title.

If you have multiple entries, I feel it's only fair to everyone else if you post which is your "contest" bracket before the first tipoff.

Hey Charlie, I had to relinquish the "Trophy" card last year to "Mr. Effenheimer" , so you will have to send it to him. Unless something crazy happens I will have to wait til next, I already lost a Final Four team, damn Kansas.

I was surprised to see that there was not one perfect bracket, 2 with one miss, one missed Iowa and the other Syracuse. Tough year for round 1.

i was looking over the brackets when you said someone has already won and i noticed that he had both ucla and fl in the championship but the person in 7th (mikala) has fl in it and fl winning. So, if florida wins wont that person pass the leader now bc the championship is worth more! J/w!!!

What do I get for having the WORST score for those that filled out brackets? Maybe a reprint Wagner?

The sad thing is I follow college hoops very closely and thought about my picks. I should have had the girl in the office choose based on the prettiest looking uniforms.

At least the Badgers had a good showing.....(sigh).

Nope, it's a done deal. If you look at the "PPR" column you can see that there are only 160 points possible left. Bob's lead is big enough that he wins no matter what. It will be 930 to 970 if Florida wins.

He must have had a crystal ball or some inside information because that's one impressive bracket. Amazing picks!

Is this the most dominant victory in Net54 bracket history?

-Ryan

Uh, Bill. Not all women pick teams based on prettiest uniforms. I myself personally pick based on whether I or anyone know went to school there. Or traveled to the city. Not bad though - I finished 14th this year using the "places I've been" approach.

And forgot to add ... congrats Bob! Great job in a very tough year.

When you get it, you should take a picture of yourself w/the trophy - name and year on the back, and forward that with the prize to the next winner so the pile of photos also accumulates.

Or, lol, something like the Stanley Cup - take a pic of the strange place the thing has been. hee.
