Default Jimmy Claxton & the 1925 Edmonds Nine

The 1925 Edmonds nine may be one of the strangest teams in semi-professional baseball history. The Snohomish County Independent Champions were led by Jimmy Claxton, and manager Mrs. Emma Hough. This photo is courtesy of the Mukilteo Historical Society. This, and much more on the early integration of PNW semi-pro baseball in Darkhorse: The Jimmy Claxton Story now available at theBookPatch Bookstore:

For those in the greater Seattle area:

The WSSCA is graciously hosting a book signing, presentation, and Q&A on "Darkhorse: The Jimmy Claxton Story" at their monthly meeting this Wednesday April 13 (730pm), at Razzi's Pizzeria on Greenwood Avenue. Hope to see you there

Hey Ty,
Will you be doing a signing at the June WSSCA vintage show too?
I sure hope so :-)

Hey Brian,

Great idea! However, I have a lengthy presentation on Thursday, June 2 at the Northwest African American Museum, and it's tough to get over the pass twice in a single week. Signed copies will be available at the show, oaks1912 has been kind enough to offer some space to sell copies. Happy collecting

I'd like to thank WSSCA for hosting the book presentation last evening in Seattle. Thanks also to net54 board members Conor912 and AndrewJerome. A remarkable opportunity to share Darkhorse: The Jimmy Claxton Story with those already familiar with this great ballplayer. See you in June
