If anyone wins that lot of 100 caramels, please email me about the E101s. I would be interested in several.

Koester's Bread, my butt.

PSA labeled them correctly... and Mastro still tried to sell them as something else.

Nobody else may appreciate the humor, Scott...

but I do!!!

I am sure you will enjoy your new W600 baseball "phototype" tremendously.

Hope you return to the baseball "card" hobby soon.

I'd also be interested in a Koester's Bread card - Carl Mays - if the winner is a board member and willing to sell.

WOW! I didn't even notice the W600 Burkett in that lot. What a steal. Many of us have been wondering for years if a surviving example even existed. The Burkett would have sold for more than the total realized for that lot if it had been listed seperately. Instead it basically was a "buried treasure". Great find Scott!

Barry and I came out victorious on lot #4...a graded OJ/n28 lot that includes 2 HOFers, a Brown's Champion and a Dotted Tie variation. Very happy with the final price too!

Scott, great find on the w600 Burkett. A friend pointed that out to me after the auction's initial cutoff, otherwise I would have missed it altogether. I think that's a definate treasure that a good deal of collector's probably missed since it was buried in a grab-bag with a bunch of cards from the 30s-50s.

it was a great find, however i was not alone, it went from $1,300 to $3,500 in the last 1/2 hour of bidding, but still sold for a few increments less than my max.

condition is a bit soft but rarity is immeasurable.

someone paid nearly $500 a card for six N269 Lorillard's boxers in beaten condition. Lot 588 $2,405 + juice. See, lower grade + rare = nice $$.

Won the Yankees regional set of Briggs, Dan Dees, Journal Americans, Coke Tips, Kahns, etc. so I could get the Briggs Mantle. All the non Briggs I will probably sell, so time will determine if it is a good deal or not.

I am happy I won the small 29 card boxing lot (not the Lorrilards). I plan to keep the OJs and Mayos and sell the rest.

if a board member won the caramels, I would be interested in a few, incl. the e-95 cobb, e-94 speaker, or the e102 cobb, lajoie, and other hofers.

- The 1924 Diaz Marquard (lot 261)

AND

- The huge overseas non-sports card lot (lot 1363). Particularly happy with this one seeing that my winning bid was way less than half of my high bid!

Lots 2, 474, and 480 are coming to Tyrone... Just curious who was up at 1:30Am bidding up the Pioneer Cabinet of the player "Carroll" (lot 2). Mastro is still number one in my eyes on how they run their auctions. I agree with Jay. However, I think Jay should have waited until all bidding was done before posting... JC

Just discovered this forum and notice your message that you bought the Mastro Coke Tips and were considering selling some of them. Given that was 5 months ago, don't know if you have sold them or not. I'm looking for the Pee Wee Reese, Bobby Thomson (3rd base) and Willie Mays. Let me know if you have any interest in selling these. Thanks.

I think you got a good price on the 1933 Goudey Dizzy Dean PSA 7. That card went for $1600 and $1700 on ebay in the last few months.

Take a look at most of those 33 Goudey lots. Many were bargains. The Dean card was actually a late bid for me, solely because I thought it was cheap. The other two I was going to bid until I ran out of money or fell asleep.

Because I bought the T026 Speaker card, I now have a PSA 5 T206 Speaker with a Polar Bear back I will be getting rid of, but I haven't yet decided if it will be via trade or sell.

What I noticed was that the common PSA 7 cards in the Goudey set went for higher than they ever did...probably averaged around $240, whereas they were in the $170 range a year ago. The HOFers did not show the same increase, in fact, it was the HOF cards that seem to be on the cheaper side. Like your Dizzy Dean PSA 7. Maybe this indicates more people trying to put sets together.
